-As school records over 50 pupils enrolment on first day

The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo has described the commencement of academic activities at the newly created Ilado Primary School in Baiyeku in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as a birth of opportunity and planting of a seed that would germinate and empower generations.
The historic landmark commencement happened on Monday when schools across Lagos State resumed for the 2025/26 academic session.
He said that the realization of the dream to bring primary education to Ilado was achieved through collaborative efforts between the LGEA, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and other stakeholders.

“Today (Monday) marks a historic turning point in the educational landscape of Baiyeku as Ilado Primary School officially commenced academic activities.
“This feat is not merely the opening of a school; it is the birth of opportunity, the planting of seeds that will blossom into generations of empowered minds. Under Alhaji Odumbo’s stewardship, the dream of accessible, quality education in Ilado has moved from aspiration to reality.
“The collaborative spirit, working hand-in-hand with the LCDA Chairman, the Baale of Ilado, the Community Development Association, and other key stakeholders has transformed a community’s yearning into a living institution.

“With over 50 pioneer pupils enrolled on day one, the school stands as a beacon of hope. These children are not just students; they are trailblazers whose names will be etched in history, quite literally, on a commemorative plaque that will adorn the school’s walls, a gesture that reflects the deep reverence for legacy and progress,” he noted.
The education secretary furthered, “This achievement is more than bricks and mortar, it is a symbol of what is possible when leadership is driven by purpose, and when communities rally behind a shared vision. This successful takeoff of Ilado Primary School would not have been possible without the swift and decisive support of the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Honourable Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun whose prompt approval of all financial proposals following last week Tuesday’s strategic meeting with stakeholders.

“It’s a demonstration of a rare blend of responsiveness and commitment to grassroots development. His action catalyzed the final steps that brought Ilado Primary School to life.”
Odumbo also extended his appreciation to other stakeholders: “Thankfulness is equally extended to Baale of Ilado, Chief Sarafadeen, CDC Chairman, Alhaji Razak Ibiyeye, Prince Femi Adelaja, Hon Princess Saidat Adeoba Odeyemi, Councillor Ward C3, Mutiat Modupe Dally, HOD Education, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and her staff, and other stakeholders.
“Let this moment echo across Ikorodu and beyond: when leaders lead with heart, history is made,” he charged.

Alhaji Odumbo in his inspiring and instructive speech at the commencement of academic exercise at Ilado Pry School to parents and stakeholders emphasised that education is not a privilege but a right, and that every stakeholder bears the sacred duty of nurturing this new citadel with integrity, diligence, and love.
